Post-matric scholarship scheme for Backward & other backward Classes
Q.1 What is the Post-matric scholarship scheme for backward & other backward class?
Ans. The objective of the scheme is to award scholarship to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of backward class (SC/ST) & other backward class (OBC) so as to provide them the better opportunities for higher education, increase their rate of attainment in higher education and enhance their employability. It provide scholarship schemes for SC/ST/OBC students for technical, vocational, undergraduate courses.


Q.2 What is the scope of the post-matric scholarship?
Ans. The scholarship is available for studies in india only and will be awarded by the Government of State/Union Territory to which applicant actually belongs , i.e permently settled. 100% central assistance will be provided by central government/UT administrations for this purpose.

Q.3 Who is eligible to apply for post-matric scholarship?
Ans. Only those candidates who belong to SC/ST/OBC so specified in relation to the State/UT to which the applicant actually belongs; permently settled and who passed the Matriculation or Higher secondary or any higher examination of a recognized university or Board of secondary Education will be eligible. The annual income of his/ her parents/guardian should be as follows:

  • Rs 1,08,000—Scholar ship+ 100% refund of fees (SC/ST)
  • Rs 75,000- Scholar ship+ 100% refund of fees(OBC)
  • Rs 1, 08,000-1.20, 000—100% Refund of fees..No scholar ship
  • Rs 1.20, 000-3, 00,000—50 % refund of fees..No scholar ship
  • Rs 3,00,000—No refund of fees & Scholarshi
    The candidate shall have minimum 75% attendance throughout the academic year.

  • Q.4 What is the financial assistance given under post-matric scholarship?

    Ans. Under the post-matric scholarship, fianacial assiatance for admission & course/tution fee and maintenance allowance is given as under:

    Q.5 What is the procedure for applying?
    ANS.
    An application for scholarship should comprise :
    a) one copy of application for scholarship in the prescribed sorm
    b) one copy of passport sized photograph with signature of student
    c) One attested copy of SSC/HSC in respect of examination passed
    d) Attested certificate of cast
    e) Income declaration by parent/Guardian
    f) Gap certificate if any
    g) Consent letter if applicant was under this scheme last year countersigned by head of the instituition


    Q.6 How is the post-matric scholarship amount distributed to the students?

    Ans. State Government /Union territory administration concerned or their designated agencies disburse the maintenance allowance to the student's bank account , and admission and course / tuition fee to the bank account of school/College/University/Institute concerned.

    Q.1 What is the Post-matric scholarship scheme for backward & other backward class?
    Ans. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Minority communities studying at post matriculation or post secondary stage to enable them to complete their education. It provide scholarship schemes to Muslim/Christian/Sikh, Parasi/Budhhist students for technical, vocational, undergraduate courses.


    Q.2 Who is eligible to apply for post-matric scholarship for minority?
    Ans. Only those candidates who belong to Muslim/Christian/Sikh, Parasi/Budhhist so specified in relation to the State/UT to which the applicant actually belongs; permently settled and who passed the Matriculation or Higher secondary or any higher examination , of a recognized university or Board of secondary Education & secured not less than 50% marks will be eligible. The annual income of his/ her parents/guardian from all sources should be not exceeding Rs 2 lakhs


    Q.3 What is the financial assistance given under post-matric scholarship?

    Ans. UUnder the post-matric scholarship, financial assistance for admission & course/tuition fee and maintenance allowance is given as under:
