(B.Sc. Human Nutrition)

B.Sc. Human Nutrition is a full time 3 years degree course, Students who register for this course, their training is aimed at making them competent Dietician and Nutritionist.

Students are given thorough Practical knowledge in addition to Theory, The course helps to work independently in preparation and standardization of normal and therapeutic diets in hospital set up as well as on outdoor basis. The student develops good skills to counsel patients and their family members regarding their dietary requirements.

In this course Nutrition is not covered as single subject but whole 3 years curriculum is focused on subjects related to Nutrition and Dietetics. Being a Hospital oriented course, the students are given on the job training by posting them in Ayushman Hospital from first year onwards.


Eligibility

Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology conducted by the recognised board / council / university.

First Year : Basic Nutrition, Human Physiology, Nutritional Biochemistry, Family Meal Management, On the job training.

Second Year : Basic Dietetics, Food Microbiology, Food science, Personnel Management, On the job training.

Third Year : Community Nutrition, Advanced Dietetics, Dietetics & Counseling Project work.

PROSPECTS OF B.Sc. Human Nutrition

Qualified Dieticians are required for a wide range of applications in health care industry and life style clinics. They get jobs in Hospitals, Health Care Centers, Health Clubs, Sports Institutions, Slimming Centers, Old-age Homes, Diabetic Centers, Nursing Homes, UNICEF & Othe UN Agencies, Pharmaceutical Companies marketing Nutrition & Dietary supplement products. Dieticians can also start their own Clinic or Consultation chamber.
